Week 3: Carrot

Wait What? Why are there two ingredients this week? Yes, you got that right! For this week I will have two ingredients which are Celery and Carrots!




Fun Facts about Carrots:

1. When carrots were first cultivated people mainly used them for their seeds and leaves, not the root.

2. Carrots originally had the colour of white and purple. Although as time grew on they had yellow and then orange Carrots.

3. The part of the Carrot that all of us now eat is the "Taproot".

4. The world's largest producer of Carrot is China with 45% of all Carrots.

5. Beware of eating too much Carrots, as it can turn you're skin Yellow!

6. Orange Carrots were actually first grown in honour of the Dutch Kingdom, as the colour that represented the Dutch Royalty was Orange.



Basic Information about Carrots:

Carrots are good for Vitamin A mainly which is for vision. Although Carrots are also very high in Calcium, which is great for bone growth. Vitamins B6 and C are also found in Carrots, although they are not very common.
