Week 9: Leek

Welcome to Week Nine of the Blog! This Week, the First Chosen Ingredient will be the Humble Leek!



Fun Facts about Leek:

1. Leeks are believed to be first found in Central Asia.


2.Leeks are also able to withhold Cold Weather, meaning that it can be harvested in most Countries.


3. Leeks are also one of the Symbols of the Country of Wales. 


4. There are also many myths that believe that Leeks could improve a person's voice.


5. The Humble Leek is also mentioned in the Bible, when the Children of Israel from Egypt had supplies which included Leeks.


6. Leeks are also thought to be able to cure nosebleeds.



Nutritional Facts about Leek:

Leeks can help cure Oxidative Stress and Leeks can support the Curing of Stage two Diabetes. Leeks are also known to be able to Cure some types of Cancer such as Colorectal Cancer. Also, unlike other Ingredients, Leeks are also very high in Vitamin B, which is not found often in other Vegetables. Whereas Leeks are very high in Vitamin K and the mineral of Manganese.
